October is here and so is fall weather. It is time to do fall maintenance to your home to have it ready for winter and next summer. Here are some of the items to perform during this time:
- Clean gutters of debris and leaves or add gutters to your home
- Review insurance and quotes for new discounts that you may now be able to receive
- Check smoke detectors to make sure they are in proper working order and or that they have fresh batteries
- Clean the chimney and check the ignition source
- Prepare plants for cold weather
- Get out your pumpkin spice candles
- Check for areas and windows that need weatherstripping
- Replace filters
- Add additional outdoor lighting if necessary
- Adjust your thermostat
- Cover patio furniture
- Gather firewood
- Flush water heaters if needed
